There are more complaints in my one year against Tour Operations, Airlines, Hire Car Companies and Hotels than in any other area.

| As an Independent Traveller you are not protected by the Package Tour Directive. Booking through a Travel agent does not protect you if your Flight / Travel and Accommodation are booked separately. You do not have the time, money or patience to sue people if things go wrong.
If you book on the internet you are ever more exposed as some suppliers are not even UK based.

| Booking through a Travel Agent does not protect you
a) If you book your hotel and flight separately as the Package Travel Directive does not apply.
b) You are not protected against the failure of the Hotel, Airline or other operator or the hire car company.
c) You do not have the time, money or the patience to sue the causes of the problem if things go wrong.
